Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Peninsula · Northeast Ohio
Ohio's only national park protects 33,000 acres of the Cuyahoga River valley between Cleveland and Akron. The Towpath Trail stretches 20+ miles along the historic Ohio & Erie Canal. Home to Brandywine Falls, the Scenic Railroad, and Hale Farm.
Salt Fork State Park

Ohio's largest state park at nearly 21,000 acres. Known as the Bigfoot Capital of Ohio. Salt Fork Lake offers excellent bass, crappie, and catfish. Lodge with restaurant and pool, 200+ campsites, 14 hiking trails totaling 22 miles.
Hueston Woods State Park
· Southwest Ohio
Southwest Ohio destination centered around Acton Lake. Protects one of Ohio's last remaining old-growth beech-maple forests — some trees over 300 years old. Lodge with golf, indoor pool, and restaurant. Popular for fossil hunting in Ordovician limestone.
Mohican State Park
· Northwest Ohio
Scenic park where the Mohican River cuts through thick hemlock gorges. The Clear Fork is Ohio's premier catch-and-release trout stream. Covered Bridge Trail passes through old-growth hemlocks. Cabins, camping, and canoe livery.
Maumee Bay State Park
· Northwest Ohio
Lake Erie destination park near Toledo with a unique mix of beach, marsh, and meadow. The Boardwalk Trail is one of Ohio's best birding walks, especially during spring warbler migration. Lodge with indoor/outdoor pools, golf course, and nature center.
